This is happening at Work, I work on a call floor and I get this call
“Thank you for calling (company) my name is (name) how can I help you today?”
An older man answers and from what I catch on his account he was at least 80 years old. “Where are you located (my name)?”
“I’m located in Utah right in the middle of happy valley”
“That’s Mormon country and that’s in the east. I want someone from the US.”
“Sir utah is right next to Nevada and Colorado”
“Those aren’t in the US either!!”
I finally gave up and called up a agent that just so happened to be in the same call center. I told her to say she was in California so that he wouldn’t do the same thing to her.
Just because people call us Mormon country doesn’t mean we are a seperate country all together!

When I was sixteen, I worked the register at a fast food restaurant. One night, a male customer kept saying things which made me uncomfortable while trying to look down my shirt. As soon as the customer had paid, our cook called me into the kitchen.

“Wait here,” he said before heading up front.

I couldn’t hear the conversation between our cook and the customer until the very end when the cook said, “No! She’s not that kind of girl.”

The customer left without his food and I never saw him again.

(I am eating lunch on the patio of the zoo’s restaurant during my lunch break. I don’t wear a uniform because I work behind the scenes, so most guests assume I am just another visitor. While I am eating, a woman and her grandchildren sit down nearby. One of the kids, a 4-year-old boy, starts throwing crackers and French fries at one of the squirrels skulking around the patio in search of handouts. The boy’s 6-year-old brother soon joins in. The woman watches in amusement, and even murmurs some encouragement to the kids. Making sure to draw attention to my employee badge, I approach the family)
Me (to the 4-year-old): Excuse me, please don’t feed the animals. We don’t want them to get sick.
Woman (brightly): That’s right! Don’t feed the animals!
(The woman then goes back to eating her lunch as if this 180 degree switch in her stance on the issue never occurred. But to be fair, the kids stopped throwing food at the squirrels.)

(Although I was born in the US, I moved to Australia when I was young so I still have a thick accent. I’m a cashier at a clothing store when I get this jack*** customer.)
Me: Hello! How are you?
Man: Hi there, what a minute.
Me: Are you okay sir?
Man: You’re a damn illegal immigrant!!
Me: No sir I’m not.
Man: You’re stealing an American’s job! Get me a damn American!
Me: Sir I assure you I’m American.
Man: No you’re a damn illegal immigrant! Quit your filthy lies b**ch!!
Me: Sir don’t speak like that to me.
Man: I’ll speak to you however I want you little b**ch! Get me your manager and I’ll get your ass fired!
Me: *Goes and get my Latino manager.*
Manager: Is there a problem here sir?
Man: This store is run by filthy illegal immigrants!! *runs out screaming profanities at us*
I looked at the clothes left at my checkout and noticed a shirt that had a picture of Africa and it said “Home”. Ironic right?

I work at the back of this amusement park so we get a lot of people losing things. And no, it’s not the amusement park you’re thinking of ;)

A customer comes into my store saying someone stole her purse. I call up security.

Me: Hello my name is [name] and I’m calling from [store]. I have a customer who says her purse got stolen.

Security: who?

Me: It’s [name]

Security: I can’t hear you. What?!

Me: *slowly* [Name]

Security: You’re mumbling.

Me: Listen it doesn’t matter what my name is! Someone stole this Women’s purse!

Security: What?

I hung up and got a coworker coming back from break to take the women directly to security.
