Rules

NAR has always placed great value on freedom of speech. However, we don’t want our home to become a place for trolls, spammers or bullies. We want to ensure we’re fostering a safe, open space where anyone can share a story or express their opinion. Let’s keep this a place to discuss the bad behavior of the people out there, not here.

  • Respect others. Do not launch personal attacks against any individual, whether it’s another commenter, the story submitter, or a member of the NAR team.
  • Keep your comments relevant. Comments should be relevant to the topic being discussed. Comments that stray far from the discussion may be deleted.
  • Have civil discussions. We appreciate constructive debate and understand that people often feel strongly about the topics on the site. But show respect for the views and beliefs of others.
  • No racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic or otherwise discriminatory language. There is a difference between criticizing a belief, and attacking someone because of their race, identity, gender, sexual orientation or religion.
  • No truth policing. Comments of “that happened” or “fake” are discouraging and only promote negative discourse. Just because you haven’t experienced the situations in a story, doesn’t mean that someone’s experiences are invalid.
  • No spamming. This includes posting repetitive comments or content, advertising products or services, or using our website solely to promote your own agenda.
  • Respect privacy. Do not publicize yours or anyone else’s personal details, including address, place of employment, phone number, email, etc.

If you ignore our rules or terms of service, we may at our discretion, with or without warning, hide or delete your comments, and in some cases remove you from discussions completely.

We encourage everyone to flag inappropriate content & behavior that are in violation. This allows moderators to review and take any necessary action. By working together, we can create a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.
