Can They Haggle? No Or No?, Part 7
I am selling my old phone online. I wake up to the following series of increasingly unhinged messages from a potential buyer throughout the night.
Buyer: “$300 is way too much for that old phone. $150, non-negotiable.”
Buyer: “Okay then, you f*** around and not reply, there are consequences. $140.”
Buyer: “It will go down by ten dollars for every hour you don’t reply to me. $130.”
Buyer: “$120.”
Buyer: “$110.”
Buyer: “$100.”
Buyer: “F*** you, you f***er! I need that f****** phone!”
After laughing, I feel the need to reply.
Me: “The price went up with every text you sent after I specified the price was fixed. $370, non-negotiable.”
After that, I blocked them and had the phone sold at my asking price by that afternoon.
