English Is Not The Default Human Language!

I live in Germany, and I used to work at a restaurant. A coworker who was Afro-Caribbean and didn’t speak a drop of English was taking an order. An American customer insisted on speaking English. She finally exploded:
Customer: “Look, I know you speak English, g**d*** it! You’re pissing me off! Stop talking to me in German!”
Another customer complained to a manager about my coworker “refusing” to speak English even after being “politely asked”.
