I was in the little toy section of this store with my mom. One of the employees walks down the aisle, intently looking along the shelves.
Me: Can I help you? (an internal moment of realization) I mean, I know you work here and I don’t, but…
She laughed and said she was just counting. I don’t work in retail and never have. I haven’t even had a 9 to 5 job yet, so it wasn’t like I was accidentally returning to employee mode. Just a weird thing I said. What else is new?
