Unfiltered Story #260744

While working, a coworker and I are in the same area. We talk for a few seconds to break up the monotony of packing out product to the shelf all day.

Coworker (in a joking sort of way): “Hey, who works better, [other coworker] or me?”
Random customer, ten feet away: “IT’S [OTHER COWORKER] OR I!”

Startled into silence, she continues.

Rc, tfa (mutters loudly, quickly): “Sorry, um, grammar teacher. [other coworker] or me, it’s [other coworker] or I.”

She walks away, and, after a confusing comment about her craziness, the customer heads back and asks me for help with an item as if she didn’t shriek out because a joke that didn’t involve her wasn’t grammatically correct.
