Unfiltered Story #221202

(I’m working as a cashier on a relatively slow afternoon. A couple comes through my lane, and I begin to ring up their stuff.)

Me: Hi, did you find everything ok today?

They don’t really acknowledge me, and keep talking to each other. I don’t mind too much though. I finish scanning their items and turn to them.

Me: Any coupons at all today?
Customer: …
Me: Ok, that’s gonna come to-

The guy then proceeded to throw a $20 bill at me, not even looking at me as he did. I was dumbfounded for a minute before I silently got their change and watched them go. People amaze me sometimes.
