As Invisible As Their Brain

, , , , , | Right | October 1, 2023

I work at a family-owned framing store; customers bring in their art, and I help them mat and frame their pictures. We also sell easels to display art on. A customer approaches me in the aisle where all of our easels and display stands are.

Customer: “Do you have any clear easels?”

I show her our clear acrylic easels, and she looks at me funny.

Customer: “Well, you will still see that. I want something that’s invisible.”

Me: *A little confused* “This is the clear stand. Of course, you can see the stand, but its goal is to minimize what you see.”

Customer: “You’re obviously not getting it! Where is your manager?”

I call my manager over, and the customer rudely repeats that she wants something “invisible”. My manager reaches out onto the shelf, grabs some air, and tells her:

Manager: “Here is the invisible stand. Just let the cashier know you have it, and they can ring it in.”

My manager being ridiculous made her realize she was being ridiculous, and she purchased the acrylic easel!

Question of the Week

Have you ever served a bad customer who got what they deserved?
