(I recently was in a car accident. Luckily, I only needed a handful of stitches in my hand. The doctor gives me a brace for my hand to help cover the stitches. I return to work a couple days later.)
Me: Hi there, can I help you find anything?
Customer: Oh, no, I-*notices my hand brace*-ugh, another lazy kid who plays too many video games.
Me: Oh, my hand? Ma’am, it’s not carpal tunnel.
Customer: And you’re a liar, too! I want to talk to your manager!
(She continues raving about how I’m going to rot my brain. I page my manager, then pull the brace and bandages off my hand. The woman sees my franken-hand, goes wide-eyed, and leaves. My manager shows up soon after.)
