That Is Not The Resistor You’re Looking For; You Don’t Need To See My Degree

, , , , , | Right | August 23, 2022

A customer comes in looking for a specific resistor as indicated on a circuit diagram.

Coworker: “Sir, that is not the resistor you need.”

Customer: “What the f*** do you know about it? It’s not like you have a degree in electronic engineering.”

My coworker walks away, and I approach the customer.

Me: “Sir, actually, he does have a degree in electronic engineering.”

My coworker is in grad school working on his Master’s, and he noticed that the circuit was off by a factor of 100 for the amplifier circuit the customer was attempting to build. He did later get an apology, which was nice.
