Missouri Texas Bunnies From Tennessee

A young girl is buying some fabric and supplies with her mother and another woman. As I am finishing ringing them out, I ask if they receive our coupons in the mail.

Mother: “Oh, I don’t know if there’s a store down by us.”

Girl: “Yeah! We’re from Texas! That’s why I’m buying all this fabric, so I can sew and not be bored when we drive all the way back to Texas tomorrow!”

Me: *Laughs* “Yeah, that is quite a drive!”

Girl: “So, I’m making clothes for my bunny!”

She pulls a stuffed bunny out of her pocket.

Girl: “Well, it’s not really my bunny; a friend and I both found it at our daycare!”

Mother: *In good humor* “There, now you know our life story.”

Girl: “Not quite! I was born in Tennessee.”

Her laughing mother took her hand and led her out of the store. They certainly brightened my day!
