Unfiltered Story #211831
(I am a server at a burger restaurant and am working a busy lunch shift alone.)
Me: “Here are your drinks, ladies. Do you have any questions about–”
Customer: *cutting me off* “No, we’re ready.”
Me: “Okay, go right ahead!”
Customer: “Tell me what’s on [Burger].”
Me: *in a joking tone* “I guess you did have one!”
(She stares at me blankly.)
Me: “Okay… Well, [Burger] comes with American cheese, lettuce, pickles, and our house sauce.”
Customer: “I’ll have [Burger] with no tomato and an order of fried pickles.”
Me: “Coming right up! Tomato doesn’t come on that burger, so no worries.”
(She rolls her eyes. I continue serving her for the rest of the meal and I’m rewarded with a 4% tip for my troubles. The next day, I find that she has left a terrible and mostly fabricated review in which she claimed, among other things, that I “lacked knowledge of the menu” and – the kicker – “didn’t listen to her.”)
Question of the Week
Have you ever served a bad customer who got what they deserved?
