Unfiltered Story #198680
Once I had a particularly hard shift at work due to circumstances out of our control everyone had to work a little extra and I was just about reaching the end of my shift. understandably by this point I was a little tired so it’s going to little slower than It normally would. As I am checking out someone I overhear the customer behind him and her husband talking
Customer: Want to know what the best part about working here is? You don’t have to be fast?
Me: ma’am I heard you
Customer: I should hope so everything I say, I say to be heard. it would’ve been wasted if you didn’t hear me
At this point I was rather shocked by how blunt she was an proceeded to go through her transaction and at the end she gave me a rather large stack of coupons of the whole pile two don’t work
Me: May I see the items that the coupons apply too?
Customer: (loudly) really? can’t you just put it in manually or something?
I’m going to note that I very well could have put it in manually but that would be breaking the rules I normally would for a customer but I wasn’t about to go out of my way for her
Me: no I can not, I’m sorry but could you please get out the two items they apply do I need to get a manager to put it in manually
Customer: Well get a manager then.
I come back with my manager and lo and behold she didn’t actually buy either of the items those two coupons applied to buying a cheaper brand instead and made us take both items off her order I have to admit denying her the coupons felt really good even if it was somewhat spiteful
Question of the Week
Have you ever served a bad customer who got what they deserved?
