Why Is “Liar” Always Their Go-To?
I was working in retail around Christmas the year the Nintendo Wii was released.
Customer: “Can you put a Wii on hold for me?”
Me: “I’m sorry, but I can’t do that.”
Customer: *Angrily* “How many do you have in stock? Just set one aside for me!”
Me: “We have zero in stock.”
Customer: “You’re lying! You’re hoarding them in the back for yourself! You deliberately want my family to suffer. You’ve ruined our Christmas!”
It was the one and only time someone actually said that to me.
