I am a manager at a call center in the Philippines, servicing customers from the USA. As a manager, I am allowed to be a bit more… blunt with our callers. One call gets escalated to me; it’s a man who is trying to get a refund a whole year after ordering an item.
Me: “I’m sorry, sir, but we can’t allow a refund. It’s outside of the return window by quite a fair margin.”
Caller: “You’re just paid to say that!”
Me: “Yes, sir. I am absolutely paid to say that.”
Caller: *Silent for a moment*
Me: “Was there anything else, sir?”
Caller: “F***er!” *Click*
