Three Minutes Is A Long Time When You’re Impatient As Heck!

I work on the subway. Walking down the platform to get on my train, I can see a woman standing halfway into a car about three cars away, pointing directly at me. She keeps her finger up until I’m passing her.

Woman: “Why aren’t we moving yet?”

Me: “Because we’re not scheduled to leave for another…” *makes a show of looking at my watch* “…three minutes.”

Woman: “Oh.”

She stepped back inside the car.

My line runs a train every five minutes, so she couldn’t have been waiting long at all. Did she think the train was going to start moving just because she got on it?
