These Guys Are Not Eggsperts

(My boyfriend and I are both men, living together and planning on marrying soon. He desperately wants to have kids right away, but I’m still indecisive.)

Boyfriend: *cuddling* “Pregnant yet?”

Me: “Wouldn’t be, even if I could.”

Boyfriend: “Seriously? We’d only need, like, an egg, right?”

Me: “I’d also need a uterus.”

Boyfriend: “Oh…and you don’t have one of those?”

Me: “No. I don’t.”

Boyfriend: “Oh…”

(We’re quiet, and I turn over to go to sleep. He taps my hip.)

Boyfriend: “Do you have a uterus now?”
