The Way I Am

(My boyfriend and I have been into each other for seven years, but did not officially start dating until recently. When we’re apart, which is often considering he lives in Tennessee and I live in Virginia, he has a tendency to sing Eminem songs awkwardly to get a rise out of me. We are driving.)

Me: “Babe, can you change the song? I don’t like this one.”

Boyfriend: “Sure!”

(He changes the song to ‘A** Like That’, and proceeds to sing it loudly as he drives to physical training for the Marines with the windows down.)

Me: “This is why we can’t have nice things.”
