The Kitchen Of Your Dreams

(My boyfriend is chatting with me on the sofa in my student housing apartment. It is late at night and we are exhausted, but trying to eek out some time together in our crazy work/school schedules.)

Boyfriend: “Hey, sweetie?”

Me: “Yes?”

(From the tone of his voice, I was expecting ‘I love you’ or something else sweet.)

Boyfriend: *nods slightly* “Beware of [Boyfriend] in the kitchen.”

Me: “What?”

Boyfriend: “Beware of [Boyfriend] in the kitchen!”

(I laughed so hard I woke him up. When I told him why I was laughing, he didn’t remember it at all. Two weeks later, he set the stove on fire. Maybe it was prophetic!)
