Send Them Outback
I work at a [Casual Restaurant Chain]. I have a customer come in one day and give me his name for a pick-up. I go over and look at the orders I have, but no names match. I ask him again to make sure I didn’t get the wrong name, and he goes off about how we messed up.
Customer: “How hard is your job?! How could you screw up so bad? What is wrong with you?!”
Me: *Keeping my cool* “What did you order? I’ll see if the kitchen can make it as quickly as they can.”
Customer: “It was an ahi tuna salad!”
Me: *With the straightest face I can muster* “Sir, you’ve ordered from the Outback next door.”
He said nothing — not even an apology — and just turned around and walked out. I still get a nice laugh about it today.
