If You’re Gonna Walk Out, Keep Walking

My coworker is a good server and makes good money because of it, so when he had a table walk out, we were all shocked.

He came into the kitchen to tell the manager that they walked out. He’d tried to stop them, but they ignored him.

Me: “Don’t worry; I’ll go get them.”

I walked to our front door (which is a glass door), saw the party from the table standing outside casually talking, and stared at them through the door until they noticed me. When they felt that someone was staring at them, they turned around and saw me through the door. I opened the door and addressed them in my best “I am crazy and will fight God” voice.

Me: “Your ticket is waiting for you guys back at your table.”

They came back in to pay. They didn’t tip, but at least they paid. My managers thought it was hilarious and commended me for getting the table back in by including me in their end-of-the-day shots and buying me dinner to take home.
