Unfiltered Story #326614
This happened just now, over lunch break. For context: this is my second stint with this company. When I first joined the company, I was set up in the clock-in machine under the wrong name. This was later corrected, and I now scan in with a different finger as well. I recently discovered, however, that my former login is still active, but under the previous – wrong – name. This led me to accidentally clock in under that name a couple of times, but I have since started being more cautious. Still, I’m not above having a little fun with it…like so:
Me: Hey, [Coworker], want to see a magic trick?
I then clock out with what I now know to be the correct finger, then again with the corresponding finger on the opposing hand – the one which apparently still triggers the clock-out under the wrong name. The machine promptly accepts both clock-outs. Cue my colleague staring open-mouthed as I have a little inward chuckle.
To whoever that worker is whose name I originally had, I’m sorry for having messed up your time sheets for about a year after I first joined!
