Unfiltered Story #292614

My boyfriend is Hispanic and I am white passing. He has a fairly popular Spanish last name. One day, I stoped at a store by myself and brought his rewards card with me, because I dont have my own for that store. I go to check out and the cashier scans my rewards card, looks at the name, and asks the following politely but obviously confused:

Cashier: you are [very obviously Spanish last name]?

I explained that was my boyfriend’s last name and we had a good chuckle about it.
