I’m a pharmacy tech at a local drug store. This day has been pretty busy and the after dinner rush has just come in, waiting in line. I’ve been calling next and clearing out my computer while I do, not really paying attention to the line just trying to keep it moving. I am helping a customer who stepped up and when he leaves the customer my manager is helping turns to me.

Customer: HE CUT IN FRONT OF ME WHY DIDN’T YOU SAY ANYTHING?
Me: I’m sorry I didn’t notice sir.
Customer: It’s ridiculous I was waiting in line and he just cut right in front of me!!!
Me: I’m sorry sir like I said I didn’t see it happen.
Customer: Well this is just crazy YOU should have done something!!
This goes on for a little while longer before I finally ask:
Me: Well, why didn’t you say anything?
Customer: It’s your job!!
Me: I can get in trouble for telling someone I didn’t see cut, to get out of line, probably fired.
Customer: Well you should have said something
This goes on for a minute or two more before I get frustrated, the line still long behind him.
Me:…. I’m sorry again sir. I CAN HELP WHO’S NEXT!
customer: WOW!!

He ended up complaining to my manager that I let someone cut and that I was rude when he complained. Jokes on him, my other manager was checking him out and heard my apologize multiple times, and backed me up and I had a laugh about it. It’s funny he was too afraid to tell the customer he had cut, but felt man enough to try to berate me for a few minutes.
