(At a famous Italian restaurant, my family of four, with my parents and brother, is with a family of two, a mother and a daughter. We are all on the same soccer team. Along with someone else.)

Father: We have 7 people dining tonight.

Hostess: Okay! Your wait time will be thirty minutes!

(We all are outside talking and chatting, and the daughter is getting really impatient.)

Daughter: *to her mother* I’m tired of waiting, it’s been a long time since we went inside! *storms off inside*

(It’s. Been. Fifteen. Minutes.)

Hostess: Okay, we have a table open.

(I’m pretty sure I got a good meal with some saliva in it.)
