Guest is on phone while I’m wrapping up her transaction
Me: do you want a gift receipt?
Guest still on phone, not answering
I repeat myself a few times and then my manager notices so she too comes over and asks the guest if she wants a gift receipt
Guest: CAN I JUST PAY!
Manager: we are just asking if you want a gift receipt
Guest: of course I do (goes back on phone)
What would have happened if I hadn’t asked because she was on the phone? She would have been so mad! Get off your phone
My manager is awesome though! She took over the end of the transaction because she saw how rude the customer was being
