The Mother Of All Apologies

| Learning | June 23, 2016

(I teach first grade. It is near Mother’s Day and as an activity, my students have to write letters to their mothers apologizing for something bad they did in the past and promise not to do it again. Here are some of the stranger examples.)

Student #1: “I’m sorry for gluing your earrings to the wall.”

Student #2: “I promise never to trade underwear with [Friend] again.”

Student #3: “I know it made you mad, so I will never ride my bike naked again.”

Student #4: “I’m sorry for eating your lipstick.”

Student #5: “I’m sorry for putting spaghetti in the dryer.”

Student #6: “I’m sorry for pooping in your closet, and I’ll never do it again.”

Student #7: “I have been hiding mashed potatoes under my bed since last year. I promise to stop.”
