Just Try Not To Be Homo Erectus

(I am in a biology class with a few of my friends. We happen to be studying human evolution. Friend #1 tends to get into dangerous situations and doesn’t consider himself very smart.)

Friend #1: “I know we’re Homo Sapiens, but what does Homo Sapien actually mean?”

Friend #2: “It means ‘wise man.’”

Me: “Homo means ‘man,’ and Sapien means ‘wise.’”

Friend #1: “Well, then, I guess I’m just a homo!”
