Got A Bad Stack Of Cards

(It’s Christmas time and I am looking at the card section of the store, trying to find appropriate cards. There is a middle-aged man next to me, also looking at cards. I am having difficulty finding the Christmas cards specifically for mothers. The man helps me find them.)

Me: “Thanks!”

Him: “Not a problem. Hey, maybe you could help me! I’m looking for my ex-wife!”

Me: *bewildered, but going with it* “Well, maybe there could be one in the romance section? Except, you know, not lovey-dovey.”

Him: *laughs* “You got that right!”

(I start to browse the romance cards and I find one which is nice, but not romantic. I show it to him.)

Him: “Thanks! Now for the mother-in-law…”

(I walked away before he could ask for help!)
