Divorcing Your Expectations From Reality

I’m working in a hotel. We’re fully booked due to a wedding. We only have four non-wedding reservations due in. In walks a family with all of their luggage; they’ve even got a cart piled with suitcases. A woman comes to my desk.

Woman: “What are your rates for tonight? Can I get a room near the pool?”

Me: “I’m sorry, but we’re sold out for the weekend.”

Woman: *Sounding country as a biscuit* “So, you mean to tell me we done took all our stuff out the car and y’all ain’t got no rooms?”

I didn’t tell you to take out all of your stuff or to bring in the rest of your family!
