Always Making Such Lovely Promises

I work in a grocery store. People who knowingly come into the shop with their dogs instead of planning ahead — like organising a time when their dog can be at home or tying them up with a lock outside — are the worst. I love dogs, but dogs are not allowed inside.

This particular customer came in with a medium-sized dog, and she had already been advised as such. You know what she did? She got the dog to run with her to the back of the store! Of course, I saw her.

I stood up on the lower part of the counter and called out to her.

Me: “Ma’am! You can’t bring dogs inside!”

She was pissed. She came over to me and said:

Customer: “Someone could steal her if I left her alone! I’m never coming here again!”
