Unfiltered Story #326669

I’m a school bus driver in the greater Seattle area. That is to say, there are a lot of hills. My coworkers and I know that people hate to be stuck behind the school bus, so we make an effort to pull over when it’s safe and let cars pass. Since the bus engines simply don’t have enough power to go quickly up some of the steeper hills, especially with a full load of students, we redouble our efforts there.

Recently, I was driving up a particular hill with a 40 mph speed limit, and the best my bus could do was about 20 mph. There were half a dozen cars patiently putting along behind me. As soon as the shoulder of the road was wide enough, I pulled over, and they zoomed past.

I got back on the road, drove around the corner… and all those cars and I were stopped for a construction crew.

I’m sorry other drivers. I tried.
