Unfiltered Story #266229

(My friend and I are customers in a craft store, she’s looking to purchase some yarn for knitting. We’re both clearly college students, she’s 19 and I’m 18. We’re standing in the yarn isle, which just so happens to have the embroidery floss in it. An older man, another customer, approaches us.)

Man: So is this stuff on clearance? I think it’s supposed to be on clearance. *gestures at embroidery floss*

Me: The embroidery floss? I’m sorry, I don’t know, we don’t work here.

Man: *clearly annoyed with the response* Oh. Well, do you think it’s on clearance? I read it’s on clearance.

Me: I really don’t know. We don’t work here, we just got here.

Man: Well, do you know if there’s someone who could actually help me out?

Me: I mean, there might be someone up front? I don’t know, we haven’t seen any staff in this particular area.

Man: *huffs and leaves to the front*

(My friend and I stood there for a moment before shrugging it off. We looked nothing like staff and he could see the exact same display information we could. Not sure why he thought we could help.)

Question of the Week

Have you ever served a bad customer who got what they deserved?

I have a story to share!
