Unfiltered Story #242932
(I am placing an order over the phone and have just finished confirming the customer’s account information.)
Me: And what is the first item you would like to order?
Caller: (gives item number)
Me: Okay, that’s the letter size white copy paper. How many cartons would you like?
Caller: 2 boxes.
Me: Do you need any other paper sizes, like legal or ledger size?
Caller: What size paper was that?
Me: That item is the letter size, which is 8 1/2 by 11.
Caller: That’s the only size I need.
Me: Okay, and what is the next item?
Caller: (gives item number)
Me: That’s the 16 ounce styrofoam cups, they come 1000 per carton. How many cartons would you like?
Caller: 1 case.
Me: Do you need any of the lids for the cups?
Caller: No, just the cups. Those are the styrofoam cups, right?
Me: Yes, they are.
Caller: And are they 1000 in the case?
Me: Yes, ma’am, 1000 per case.
Caller: So, yes, 1 case then.
Me: And the next item?
Caller: That’s it.
(I give her the total and expected delivery date.)
Me: And I show we have your account set up to email your confirmation to (email address), is that still correct?
Caller: Yes, that’s right.
Me: You should receive your email confirmation shortly. Is there anything else I can help you with?
Caller: Will I get a confirmation for this order?
Me: Yes, we will be emailing your confirmation to (email address) and you should receive it shortly.
Caller: Okay.
Me: Is there anything else I can do for you?
Caller: No, thank you. Have a good day.
Me: Thank you for… (caller hangs up)
