The card reader for our drive thru till has gone down meaning we’re only taking cash at the window. We’ve posted a sign at the drive thru speaker stating such and the order taker is also telling each guest as they arrive at the speaker. The following excepts happened multiple times each:

“oh, so no debit/credit/other non-cash thing?”

“I guess that means it’s free then!”

“can I pay later?”

*totally ignores cash only warning and places $50 order, then complains nobody told them we weren’t taking cards*

Thank God the technician came and fixed it later that day.
