I went to pick a man up to take him for an X-ray. He had a name that I assumed was Polish, didn’t matter to me, but he was going on and on about the Irish. G’damn Irish this and f’ing Irish that. Then he stopped and looked at me. “You aren’t Irish, are you?” What, me? No, I was born in Detroit. It’s my great grandparents who came from there.

He shut-up, probably felt like a dick, but my ancestry means pretty much nothing to me and I didn’t take offense beyond thinking he was an idiot.
