(I was working at a demo, handing out coupons when a customer stops and stares at me)

Me: …Is everything alright, Ma’am?

Customer: Oh Honey, you look so pale, are you feeling okay?

(I’m incredibly pale, to the point of having to go to specialty stores to find concealer/foundation that isn’t too dark)

Me: No, I’m fine, but thank you – (The customer suddenly grabs my wrist, and starts rubbing it hard – I’m too stunned to really react. She soon stops and squints at me before letting go)

Customer: Oh. It’s not make up. You really are white. (She walks off as if nothing happened)
