(I work cash at a restaurant and one of my duties is to answer the phone. The following is not an uncommon occurrence.)
Me: Good afternoon, you’ve reached [Company Name] in [City]. This is [Name]. How may I help you today.
Customer: Is this [Company]?
Me: Yes sir, how may I help you today?
Customer: Is this the [Company] in [City]?
Me:… Yes sir.
Customer: Can I ask who I’m talking to?
Me: (Screams internally.)
