This happens way too often when I’m taking a call transfer from an agent in another depatment.
Me: Hi, my name is [Very common english name] how can I help?
Agent: Hi [Not even close to my name] I have a customer asking to speak with your department can I transfer him through?
Me: Sure, but my name is [My name].
Agent: Oh sorry.
Me: It’s ok, send the customer through im ready.
Agent: Hi sir I have [Not even close to my name] here for you he will help from here on.
Me: Hi sir, my name is actually [My name] is short for [Not even close to my name] how can I help?
Customer: Hi, [Not even close to my name] …
