(Last night, we had a problem with the electricity in our hotel. Consequentially, the guests were mad.)
Me: “I’m sorry for the trouble. Would you like a refund?”
Guest: “NOOOOO!!! It’s not about the money, it’s about the inconvenience!! You all have inconvenienced me and nothing will help that! I hope you all are proud of yourselves!” *storms off*
(The next guest appears.)
Me: “I’m sorry about the trouble. How can we make this better for you?”
Guest # 2: “What do you mean?! You’re supposed to know what to give me! How can you not know?! Are you an idiot!”
Me: “Ummmm, a refund?”
Guest #2: “Duh!”
