When The Ad Men Officially Become Mad Men

(My partner and I are watching TV when an ad comes on featuring a woman peeping over an office cubicle wall at a man using a photocopier. He likes to think of reasons people might have to complain about ads.)

Partner: “Oh, the [ethnicity] woman is the one who’s spying on him? There’s a complaint, for a start!”

Me: “Maybe she’s got a crush on him?” *triumphantly* “Yeah, she’s got a crush on him! That’s my theory, and I’m sticking with it!”

Partner: “You think?”

Me: “Yeah! She’s got jungle fever!”

Partner: “But… wasn’t the guy white?”

Me: “Um, okay, then she’s got… er, meadow fever!”
