Teachers Give It All Heart
(My teacher has a heart attack and I am the only person around. I am probably as scared as my teacher who has the heart attack. The next week he is back and I ask him if he is okay.)
Me: “So you’re, like, good?”
Teacher: “Yup.”
Me: “You scared me to death, you know. You told a 15-year-old you were having a heart attack. Like, did you want my professional medical opinion? What if you dropped dead right in front of me?”
Teacher: “I would hope you would call the nurse or the funeral home.”
Me: *sarcastically* “Yeah, I would have called the nurse and then the morgue. I didn’t know if you wanted to be buried or cremated.”
(He was fine and still is my teacher, thankfully.)
