Same Thing, Really…

(I’m a few months away from attending college, where I plan to major in economics. My mom has asked me what I was planning to do after college, and my younger brother, who loves messing with me and everyone else is listening intently.)

Me: “So I figure after I graduate, I’ll want to move somewhere big but not too big, sort of get myself started off. Then after maybe 10 years, I’ll move somewhere like New York, but only if I decide I want to get a more lucrative career… Then when I retire, I figure I’ll move somewhere like Seattle, kind of quirky and unusual…”

Brother: “When do you hope to gather your secret society of economists to rule the world from the shadows?”

Me: “Uh…”

Brother: “Then you’ll rule the world economy!”

Me: “[Brother], I’m studying to be an economist, not an evil overlord.”

Mom: “You could be both.”
