Prequels Lead To Anger, Anger Leads To…

(I’m eating lunch and talking with my friends. The conversation turns to ‘Star Wars’ and Friend #1 brings up how terrible he thinks the prequel trilogy is.)

Friend #1: “What do you think, [My Name]?”

Me: “I don’t know. I’ve never seen the prequels.”

(This surprises my friends, as they all know me to be a huge Star Wars fan.)

Friend #2: “You haven’t?”

Me: “No, I’ve only seen the original trilogy and Episode 7. I just don’t see the point in watching the prequels since I already know how it’s all gonna turn out.”

Friend #1: “But you’d get to see how the whole story began! You’d get to see Anakin go through his Jedi training and his eventual turn to the Dark Side of the Force!”

Me: “But didn’t you just get done explaining how all the prequels are terrible?”

(Beat.)

Friend #1: “You win this round.”
