O No!

| Learning | November 11, 2016

(I’m in second grade and we have just received our 3rd quarter report cards. In my school, an “O” is the best grade, representing outstanding, and “G” is the next best, meaning good. My parents see my grades and decided to have a meeting with my teacher.)

Parent: “We were just wondering why [My Name] got a ‘G’ for some of her lessons. We looked over her graded homework and tests and they’re all ‘O’s. Is there something she’s not doing in class?”

Teacher: “Oh, she’s fine. She actually got an ‘O’ in all her lessons.”

Parent: “Then why isn’t it on her report card?”

Teacher: “Because I don’t want her to think she’s too smart and stop trying in class.”

(I’m not exactly sure what my parents said to the teacher next but by my fourth quarter report card my third quarter grades had be changed to all “O”s)
