A Warming Realization

(My boyfriend and I are in a long distance relationship. I live in the United States and he lives in Canada. It’s early December and for me, it’s very cold outside, hovering just under freezing. He and I are texting.)

Boyfriend: “Give me a moment; I have to walk home.”

Me: “Don’t freeze!”

Boyfriend: *a few minutes later* “Wow, it’s one degree outside.”

Me: “Are you wearing a coat?”

Boyfriend: “No.”

Me: “What?! Get a coat on, you dimwad, or you’ll freeze to death!”

Boyfriend: “Babe, it’s warm.”

(I suddenly realize he goes by Celsius, meaning that it’s 34 degrees outside for him.)

Me: “Oh… right, Celsius…”

(He had a good laugh and proceeded to tell me how much he loved me. Glad to know my forgetfulness is cute.)
