A Titanic Blunder

(In college in 1997 my friend and I are discussing the movie ‘Titanic,’ about a week after seeing it at the cinema.)

Me: “I feel really silly!”

Friend: “Why?”

Me: “Well, it’s quite obvious from the start of the movie that Jack Dawson does not survive but I was still hoping he would.”

Friend: “Well, I was hoping the ship wouldn’t sink.”

Me: “I don’t feel that silly anymore!”
