(I’m teaching my class English as a foreign language, and we’re discussing fears and phobias.)
Me: “So, some phobias are reasonable, like snakes and things that can kill you, but many seem strange to outsiders. Who can name a weird phobia that they can’t understand?”
Student: *without hesitation* “Homophobia.”
Class: *murmurs of agreement*
Me: *silently basking in my appreciation of this generation*
