Years back I needed to be in court. Naturally, courtrooms are very serious places, but occasionally there is comic relief. I was looking at the judge perhaps a bit too intently. It should be noted that this judge was one that replaced the disbarred Judge Donald Thompson who made national news for his indiscretions in the courtroom.

Judge: Is something wrong?

Me: Were you at the state fair yesterday?

Judge: No. Why?

Me: I saw someone that could have been your twin. I almost said “hi.”

Judge: There’s a scary thought.
