Unfiltered Story #323039

Nowadays, the number for emergency services in Belgium is 900 (or 112) and people say “call an ambulance/police/fire department” but back in the day ambulance/fire department had one number and the police another. If you needed an ambulance, people just said “call the hundred” (it sounds a bit off in English but the number was used as a noun). One day, my mum and a neighbour, sharing seven adventures kids between them, decided to look op the number for “the hundred” just in case… and to teach us kids. Well, to nobody’s surprise, it turned out to be 100 (police was 101, for the curious).
